The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stated: “A man is not a believer who fills his stomach while his neighbour is hungry.

Case Studies

Mawlawi Abdul Bari: Three of his sons were killed during the war. His 3 widowed daughter in-laws and their children live with him. He borrows money to feed them bread, they have no other food. In total, the house has 30 occupants with not a single breadwinner.

Sabir‘s house was damaged during the war. Recent snow caused the roof of part of his house to collapse, badly injuring his wife and children. They have no food and only eat bread. He borrows money to buy flour every 5 days.

Qudratullah and his three siblings are orphans. They live in a small house, which is in need of repair, with their widowed mother. Again they have no food or provisions. Their maternal grandfather drops off a little food to stop them from starving.

There are thousands of families like these with no provisions. The only food they have is bread obtained by borrowing money.
